New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) On May 19, Memphis rockers Lucero will host their Family Picnic at Batesville, Arkansas's Riverside Park for the first time since 2008. The band curates a full day of live music, featuring a diverse range of rock, country, roots, and punk artists, as well as games and cookouts. The line-up features Shooter Jennings, Glossary, Austin Lucas, Lee Baines III and the Glory Fires, John Paul Keith and the One Four Fives, and Guy Venable Jr. (Lucero guitarist Brian Venable's father). The band staged a Family Picnic at this year's SXSW, and Austin Culture Map described it as "a rowdy, rock n' roll free-for-all for punks, rockabillies and out-of-towners alike." The festival, which drew 2,500 diehard fans when it was last held in Arkansas in 2008 and a packed house for the first SXSW installment in 2010, follows a run of sold-out tour dates and the release of 'Women & Work,' Lucero's highest-charting album to date. The Wall Street Journal praised their "hootin' bar sound that recalls the asphalt sass of Boz Scaggs' "Silk Degrees" and Bob Seger's "Night Moves"" and Billboard called 'Women & Work' the band's "tightest, most focused album yet."
