New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Words & Music PR) Carol C, lead singer and co-founder of the NYC-based band Si*Sé, and production duo Liquid Agents have teamed up to produce a series of covers that Carol C best describes as "songs that at some point in my life I've listened to on repeat for days at a time." This series of digital white labels they're calling Re:Plays will be released as free monthly downloads throughout 2012 and will feature reworkings of some of their favorite and often under-appreciated tracks. The first single in the series is "
Teardrop" by
Massive Attack. Carol C, who cites the original track's vocalist
Elizabeth Frazer of Cocteau
Twins as an early influence, says of the track "I can remember listening to the record for the first time. Watching the grooves on the vinyl as it spun. I loved it from the second I heard the crisp, signature
Massive Attack snare."

As both a frequent collaborator and globetrotting DJ throughout her career, the leap to covering some of her favorite music and working with Liquid Agents was a natural one for Carol C. Ever since her band Si*Sé was discovered and signed by
David Byrne of
Talking Heads to his Luaka Bop label over a decade ago she has gone on to lend her vocals, songwriting, and impeccable ear for production to collaborations with Byrne himself, Nickodemus, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Madrid De Los Austrias, and EarthRise Sound System. Björk recently selected her to be an integral part of her Biophilia tour in New York, teaching music theory to elementary school students as part of the Biophilia Academy at the New York Hall of Science this past February. This May will see Carol C releasing "Go," a new single from her band Si*Sé, complete with remixes by Liquid Agents,
Thomas Blondet, and The Crystal Pharaoh.
Liquid Agents are the NYC-based production team of Dr. J (Justin Filmer) and DJ Cync (Carlisle Wilson). Known for their remixes of Radiohead, Prince, Eric B. & Rakim, and Easy Star All-Stars, the duo have been making waves and exploring new musical landscapes with their blends of Deep House, Electro, and Minimal Techno. Not newcomers to the world of bootleg remixes, Liquid Agents made a splash at last year's WMC in Miami with their reworking of Prince's "Kiss." Having already worked with the likes of Louie Vega, Tiga, Frankie Knuckles, and Superferric, 2012 will see the two continuing to push the envelope while bringing a unique mix of harmonic and rhythmic maturity to the underground dance genre.
