Detroit Roots Rockers Daniel Harrison And The $2 Highway Celebrate Debut CD "Humidity"
DETROIT, MI. (Top40 Charts) Detroit Roots Rockers Daniel Harrison And The $2 Highway Celebrate Debut CD "Humidity"Alternative country infused roots rockers Daniel Harrison & The $2 Highway celebrate the release of their highly anticipated debut CD "Humidity" at the New Dodge Lounge on Friday May 18. Doors are at 8:30 p.m.; tickets are $8 and ages 18 and over are welcome to attend.

Supporting Daniel Harrison & The $2 Highway are Hard Rock Calling finalists The Wall Clocks, country and western party band Shotgun Soul, and acoustic soul singer Jesse Passage.

Daniel Harrison and the $2 Highway is a not-so-traditional five-piece band from Detroit, Michigan. Their groove-laden mixture of alternative country and roots is layered with complex conga beats, entrancing guitar solos, and danceable bass lines, all driven by the deep thumping of the Djembe. Rounding out this unconventional group are the soulful and sometimes haunting lyrics generated by Daniel Harrison's powerful, yet primal voice.

"Humidity" is the debut CD fans of Daniel Harrison & the $2 Highway have been waiting for. Recorded at Royal Oak's Rustbelt Studios by acclaimed producer Al Sutton, Daniel Harrison couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. " We're proud that we were able to produce music that is an expression of our souls," he explains. Adding, "we're excited that we're finally able to put something tangible in our fans' hands and hope that they're able to identify with the music. After all, that's what music is all about - being able to connect with people and possibly make some sort of difference to them."

Formed in 2009, Daniel Harrison and the $2 Highway have quickly established themselves as an in-demand live act - performing at the Detroit Downtown Hoe Down, Stars and Stripes and Uncle Sam Jam festivals, in addition to sharing the stage with Ty Stone, Sponge, Hello Dave and many more top names.

Music fans that have never seen the band perform live are in for a treat at the New Dodge Lounge. "Our live show provides an opportunity to become lost in the music. The rhythmic hand drums and entrancing guitar solos seem to awaken something primal in all of us," says Harrison. "We try to take our fans on a journey with us to simpler times, where you can dance all night and forget your troubles for a while!"

Don't miss a mesmerizing night of live music at the New Dodge Lounge on Friday May 18, 2012!

The New Dodge Lounge is located at 8850 Joseph Campau Street in Hamtramck, Michigan. For more information on the venue please call 313-874-5963.
