WCPE Goes Back To Baroque For The Weekend
Wake Forest, NC (Top40 Charts/ WCPE FM) TheClassicalStation.org announces today a "Back to Baroque" Weekend, May 19-20, 2012. Music Director William Woltz programs a weekend which highlights the language of music that came to be defined as the music we know today.

"The music is at once powerful, yet beautiful," says Woltz. "It has remained a part of our lives thanks to the efforts of Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schumann and Beethoven."

Here are selected works to be aired:

9:00 a.m. Handel: Suite in F from Water Music;
10:00 a.m. Vivaldi: Four Seasons;
12:00 p.m. Telemann: Trumpet Concerto no. 1 in D;
2:00 p.m. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto no. 5 in D;
4:00 p.m. Corelli: Concerto Grosso in F, op. 6, no. 6;
5:00 p.m. Buxtehude: Trio Sonata no. 1 in F.

20 Sunday
7:00 a.m. Albinoni: Oboe Concerto in D Minor, op. 9, no. 2;
11:00 a.m. Bach: Orchestral Suite no. 3 in D;
1:00 p.m. Pergolesi: Flute Concerto in G;
3:00 p.m. Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks;
4:00 p.m. Purcell: Suite from The Fairy Queen;
