New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) Internationally-acclaimed, Belgium-born recording artist Selah Sue will release her self-titled debut album on August 21 on Columbia Records. The album will introduce the U.S. to Selah Sue's unique style - a distinctive blend of pop, soul, funk and reggae. The album's vivacious first single, "Raggamuffin," is available now via all U.S. digital retailers, and its corresponding video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IunmW3wI5Q

Selah Sue's self-titled album debuted in the top 10 charts in Belgium, France and the Netherlands and, to date, the success of those releases has garnered her multiple platinum certifications. The U.S. version of the album will include three exclusive, never-before-heard songs: "On the Run," "Break," and "Fade Away." Selah Sue features rap superstar J.Cole on a remix of "Raggamuffin" as well as Cee-Lo Green on the duet "Please." Selah Sue also partnered with producer Jerry Wonda, longtime collaborator of Wyclef Jean and producer of Fugees' classic The Score, on "Fade Away" and co-wrote the emotional ballad "Mommy" with Meshell Ndegeocello.

In anticipation of the upcoming release, Selah Sue is completing a brief tour supporting Beth Orton in select U.S. cities (see below for dates). Selah is making stops at Boston's Brighton Music Hall, New York's Joe's Pub, as well as Washington DC's U Street, playing intimate acoustic performances. She will return to the states with her band for plugged-in performances at the UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival on May 27th, at Bowery Electric on May 30th and the Roots Picnic on June 3rd. Whether performing in smaller settings or at venues filled with thousands, Selah Sue effortlessly mesmerizes the crowd with her innate charm - as can be viewed here in the broadcast of her recent concert in Lille, France before ten thousand fans: https://canalstreet.canalplus.fr/musique/selah-sue-en-live/le-concert-de-selah-sue-au-zenith-de-lille-en-integralite.

Selah Sue began writing music in high school and, by the age of 22, found herself in recording sessions with hip-hop artist Nneka. Her first full-length album was completed in 2010. Praised by Elle (Belgium) as having an "impertinent sense of rhythm…refreshing frankness and a visceral passion for music," Selah's musical talents were acknowledged by Prince, who offered Selah a coveted support slot at his shows in Antwerp, Belgium. Selah has already taken home the prestigious French Mercury Prize and the public choice award at the 2012 European Border Breakers Awards, and now looks forward to bringing her inimitable music style to the United States.
