Total Slacker IS an American psych-lo-fi-garage-noise-*gaze band from Brooklyn, New York founded by Tucker Rountree and Emily Jane. In the last year-and-a-half as a band they've played over 100 (mostly sold-out) live shows including performances alongside Beach Fossils, DFA 1979, Friends,MNDR, Thee Oh Sees, Prince Rama, The Rapture, Real Estate, Rick Ross, YUCK, Vivian Girls, Wavves, Woods plus MANY MORE. Within their first year, Total Slacker released a 2 Song EP, "Crystal Necklace" onImpose Records as well as a 7" Split EP with Weird Dreams (UK), a digital single of "Secret VHS Collection,"and a full length LP, "Thrashin" all on the UK Label Marshall Teller Records. Total Slacker are looking forward to the release of more EPs this June, including a 7" split with Brooklyn scene-matesFriends (both on Sixteen Tambourines - Japan)

"Slowed down, fuzzed-out punk band ... their extended, feedback-laden jams take on an infinite number of permutations. During one interlude, Tucker kicked, spun, jumped, and fell on the ground, then climbed up on the bass drum to play his guitar behind his head." - MTVhive.com

"With the Brooklyn acts Total Slacker and Beach Fossils, its a directory of the Brooklyn contingent of a sub-sub-genre with perhaps the most unfortunate appellation in music history: "shitgaze." - The New Yorker Magazine

"Front man Tucker Rountree manages to echo both Thurston Moore
and Lou Reed with his half-sung, half-spoken lyrics about being young, broke, and in love with a girl...His guitar solos started out with room to breathe, but often ended with him on the floor by his guitar amp, making as much noise as possible. Oppenheimer's solid bass riffs and sweet backing vocals brought Kim Deal to mind." - Village Voice

"Total Slacker's sense of humor is the album's driving force, and it's both overt and weirdly specific... their alt-rock churn works in their favor. Rountree is an adept guitarist, He uses simple, elegant guitar lines in "Magical Date Night" and "High School Dropout" open with mood-setting one-note sols that act as complete earworms" - Pitchfork
