Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Grapevine PR) Popular American rock artist Monte Pittman will be honored in November with a prestigious Career Achievement Award in the category of "Guitarist" from the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards, it was announced today. Pittman will be recognized for his career that spans over a decade and which includes his solo work on his two albums, 2009's The Deepest Dark and his highly successful 2011 album, Pain, Love & Destiny, in addition to playing guitar for artists such as Madonna, Prong and Adam Lambert.
In addition to his Career Achievement Award, Pittman has also been nominated by the Los Angeles
Music Awards in the category of "Best Male Singer/Songwriter." The Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards are presented by the Los Angeles
Music Awards, during the ceremony set to take place on Nov. 15.
"Monte Pittman is perhaps the most unique music artist our awards program has ever worked with," said Al Bowman, founder and executive producer of the Los Angeles
Music Awards. "He is both a star performer with
Madonna and a humble and kind grassroots indie musician. A rare combo of humility and star power."
Last February, Pittman took home the coveted "Best Solo Artist" award from the 2012 Artists in
Music Awards, and also received the most award nominations of the night, having been recognized as "Best Rock Artist," "Best Blues Artist," "Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year."
His newest album Pain, Love & Destiny, released in October of last year, made it to No. 1 Rock Album and No. 1 Pop Album on CD Baby in its first week. It also cracked iTunes Top 200 chart, an impressive accomplishment for an indie artist.
Additionally, Jarrell Guitars recently honored Pittman with his very own MPS Series signature guitar, which debuted at this year's NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA., in January. Pittman is currently on the road on Madonna's 2012 World Tour.
