Texas Rockeros Invade San Antonio With New Compilation In Hand
Austin, TX (Top40 Charts/ Movimiento Rockero Official Website) Austin-based musical collective Movimiento Rockero brings its Latin-infused, rock-fueled live show to San Antonio to celebrate the release of its second compilation CD "Movimiento Rockero 2012" with a concert event at Sam's Burger Joint on Friday June 29th. The show will feature performances by Movimiento's founding members VITERA and Kalua, Austin Rock En Español pioneers Boca Abajo, and San Antonio Latino Rock/Pop favorite Filio.

"Movimiento Rockero's mission is to promote rock music made by modern American Latinos...without regard for language or stereotypical 'Latin' elements." Says co-founder and manager, Haydn Vitera, "It doesn't have to be in Spanish or sound like Maná, Enanitos Verdes or Santana. The new 2012 compilation is all about Latino rockers from right here in Texas that are making killer new sounds and breaking new ground with our feet firmly planted in our bi-cultural heritage."

Movimiento Rockero (Rock Movement) grew out of what began as a local Rock en Español compilation project entitled "Movimiento Rockero 2011" conceived by Haydn Vitera (VITERA) and Juan Diaz (Kalua) and released May 5th of that year. Produced by Vitera and featuring five of Austin's most talented Latin rock bands, VITERA, Kalua, Boca Abajo, Este Vato, and La Guerrilla, the CD was well-received by both the Latino and mainstream rock communities and eventually led Vitera to host monthly showcases at Austin's legendary Antone's nightclub. With cornerstone bands VITERA and Kalua consistently at the helm, the live Latino rock series continues to heat up, winning over new fans and gaining momentum with each performance.

The second compilation CD, "Movimiento Rockero 2012" spreads the Rock Latino amor across Texas this year including bands from El Paso, Dallas, Waco, Houston, and San Antonio in addition to the homegrown talent of the Live Music Capitol. The collection of thirteen tracks highlights the cross-cultural appeal of today's Rock Latino and is destined to be a favorite among fans of rock...en Español or otherwise.

The "Movimiento Rockero 2012" San Antonio CD Release Party featuring VITERA, Filio, Kalua, and Boca Abajo rocks Sam's Burger Joint on Friday June 29th. Ticket price is $10 at the door for All Ages. Doors open at 8pm. Show starts at 9pm.
