The Playground/Birth Records Presents Datsik, Modestep, Dirtyloud, High Rankin (Live) And The Prototypes On July 14, 2012
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Playground Official Website) THE PLAYGROUND / BIRTH RECORDS PRESENTS DATSIK +MODESTEP +DIRTYLOUD + HIGH RANKIN (LIVE) + THE PROTOTYPES ++ 14TH JULY @KOKOWith the recent explosion of Dubstep becoming the worldwide phenomenon it is now, THE PLAYGROUND brings together some of the best artists that have contributed to the continuous evolution of the genre.

Fresh from releasing his debut album Vitamin D on DIM MAK Records, DATSIK plays his only UK summer event of 2012. The album has been met with great acclaim, with legendary producer and founder of DIM MAK Records STEVE AOKI claiming to be "blown away" by the album. Having fused dubstep with electro ands DnB, DATSIK provides a dark and groundbreaking example of the sound. At the young age of just 24, it is fair to say there is plenty more to expect from this producer as the genre progresses further. DATSIK has recently remixed tracks from the likes of KASKADE and SKRILLEX as well as collaborating with DJ FRESH and DIZZEE RASCAL for a remix on new hit-single 'The Power' for the Ministry Of Sound label.

Fresh from a tour with Welsh rockers LOSTPROPHETS, festival favourites MODESTEP will also be performing. Considered as dubstep's answer to PENDULUM, MODESTEP combine sickening bass drops with shredding guitar hooks to make them one of 2012 loudest new artists. Expect a DJ set full of some of the hardest bass music around with all the hallmarks of MODESTEP live show.

HIGH RANKIN will be performing a live set with his band, providing another twist on the already diverse night of music. His ground breaking approach to dubstep has seen him smashing out singles on his own label Suicide Dub since 2008 and he has recently attracted the attention of Ministry of Sound, working on 'The Sound of Dubstep' Volumes 2&3. We are very excited to have this legend in the game on the bill.

THE PLAYGROUND brings possibly the hottest name on everyone's lips at the moment; Brighton's own DISMANTLE will add to this already eccentric selection of DJ's on show. Earning the mutual respect of Radio 1's Annie Mac and Diplo, DISMANTLE is due to be this year's next big thing. Already signed to Shy FX's Digital Soundboy Records and his debut release 'Computation' has been storming up the beatport charts. Not bad for a teenager.

The Brazilian born DIRTYLOUD make their DEBUT UK show and are a must see for any bass enthusiasts. With comparisons to SKRILLEX and KNIFE PARTY, these guys are looking to throw the loudest party heard by our British ears, and will be the first of many shows heading to our shores.

With so much buzz around these artists, party pioneers THE PLAYGROUND decided that it only made sense to bring these acts together as an ensemble of the hottest producers working on the darker side of electronic music for a single line-up at Camden's infamous KOKO on Saturday 14th July.

KOKO can be found at 1a Camden High Street, London, NW1 7JE. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are on sale now via www.theplayground.co.uk.
