Kansas City, Mo (Top40 Charts/ American Jazz Museum) The Jammin' at the Gem Concert Series is back again with five stellar performances lined up. This season kicks off on
September 29th with Chick Corea and Gary Burton and the Harlem String Quartet. Corea is one of the most well renown and respected composers in all of music and has received over fifty Grammy nominations during his illustrious career. Burton is a self taught vibraphone virtuoso and six time Grammy winner. The Harlem Quartet was founded in 2006 and is focused on advancing diversity in classical music in urban communities.

Kurt Elling headlines the second show of the season on February 16th, 2013. Elling is a ten time Grammy nominee and has also won the Down Beat Magazine Critics Poll 12 times as Male Vocalist of the Year.
The third show celebrates the Monterey Jazz Festival right here in Kansas City with the 55th Anniversary Tour on March 23rd, 2013. This exclusive presentation will feature
Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian McBride, Benny Green, Lewis Nash, Chris Potter, and Ambrose Akinmusire.
Saturday April 13th, 2013 will feature Eric Harlan and his quintet, Voyager, as the fourth show of the season. Voyager members include Taylor Eigsti on piano, Walter Smith III on saxophone, Julian Lage on guitar, and Harish Raghavan on Bass.
The finale performance on May 18th will showcase Alex Bugnon featuring
Cindy Bradley to headline the American Jazz Museum Lifetime Achievement Award Celebration.
The mission of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City is to celebrate and exhibit the experience of jazz as an original American art form through Performance, Education, Exhibition and Research.
