LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ MSO PR) Good music prevails!
Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, the 1999 albumby progressive hard rock icons DREAM THEATER, has landed the #1 position in Rollingstone.com's readers' poll for "Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time." Marking their fifth studio release, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory is a concept album about the story of a man named Nicholas and the discovery of his past life. It was created as a sequel to their song "Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and the Sleeper" off their 1992 album Images and Words.
In 2011 DREAM THEATER was also voted #2 in Rollingstone.com's readers poll in the category of "The Top 10 Metal Bands of All Time" and #10 for "The Best Prog Rock Bands of All Time".

"All of us in Dream Theater are so grateful to our fans for their incredible support in voting our album Metropolis PT. 2 Scenes From A Memory as the number 1 album in Rolling Stone's poll for 'Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time,'" DREAMTHEATER says. "The kind of support we have around the world is absolutely amazing and inspires us to keep making the best music that we possibly can for all of you!"

Rollingstone.com noted, "If we had kept in all the Dream Theater albums, Images and Words would be number two, and Awake, Octavarium and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence would also be listed here. Lumping them all into this top spot was the only way to handle the flood of Dream Theater votes."
