NEW YORK (www.covergirl.com/cgvibes) - CoverGirl Cosmetics' emphasis on beauty - both inner and outer - will radiate more brightly than ever this summer when the brand launches CG Vibes: Music That Gives Back, the first-ever cosmetic record label, and at the same time announces plans to award a total of $50,000 to women who work to make the world more beautiful for others.
"Music and volunteerism are key parts of the CoverGirl heritage," said Anne Martin, Vice President, Global Cosmetics and Beauty Marketing for Procter & Gamble. "CG Vibes is a combination of both, uniting the brand with popular performers who are committed to charitable causes, and adding the element of supporting teens and women who are involved in improving their communities."

The CG Vibes CD, to be released in partnership with Atlantic Records, will make its debut at a star-studded listening party on July 15th at Boulevard's Crash Mansion, one of New York's hottest music venues. Featured artist and CG Vibes spokesperson Queen Latifah, whose Better Than the Rest track from Bringing Down the House is featured on the CD, will attend. A special performance by Lava/Atlantic singer/songwriter Toby Lightman, who is also featured on the CG Vibes CD, will be a highlight of the glamorous event.

Other CG Vibes artists include Atlantic artists Brandy, The Corrs, Sugar Ray, The Donnas and Ryan Cabrera; Lava/Atlantic's Cherie; and Maverick's Ben Jelen.
"We are delighted to be partnering with CoverGirl for the release of the debut CG Vibes CD," said Atlantic Vice President of Strategic Marketing Camille Hackney. "Not only is it a great way to expose our artists to an ideal group of music consumers, but it gives both Atlantic and the participating artists a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for women who are helping their communities through music and charitable service."

Distributed by the Atlantic Records Group, the CG Vibes CD will be available for purchase nationwide on July 20 at Musicland's Sam Goody and Media Play stores for $3.99, or free with purchase of a full-length album of CG Vibes' artists Brandy, The Corrs, Toby Lightman or Ben Jelen. The CD will also be available for sale and download online at Sony's connect.com on July 20. Proceeds from the sales of the CD will go to the CG Vibes Fund.

Listen Up, Volunteers
The CG Vibes premiere listening party will also kick off the CG Vibes Awards Contest, which, next May, will grant $10,000 each to five individuals who are actively involved in public service efforts. Award winners will be selected by the CG Advisory Board, which includes Queen Latifah, Kevin Eubanks, Tamyra Gray (Star of American Idol), Toby Lightman, Cherie, Kathy Brier (Daytime soapstar and lead in Hairspray), Paula Shugart (President of the Miss Universe Organization), Jack Rotherham (Publisher, Teen People), Anne Martin (P&G), Cheryl Hudgins (P&G), Charlotte Otto (P&G), Paul Yocum (P&G), Camille Hackney (Atlantic) and others.

The three categories are:
* CG Vibes Award - Awarded to one woman who has given back to her community through music.
* Biggest Challenge - Awarded to two women (one teen and one adult) who saw a need in their communities and determined a change had to be made.
* Biggest Accomplishment - Awarded to two women (one teen and one adult) who have made a huge impact within an existing organization.

Entry forms and contest rules for the CG Vibes Awards Contest will be:
* Included in the CG Vibes CD packaging
* Available online at https://www.covergirl.com/cgvibes

Teen People will donate $1 per entrant to the CG Vibes Fund and will also offer an opt-in for a free trial subscription via the online CG Vibes Contest Awards entry form. Completed entry forms must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2004 and received by January 14, 2005. To be eligible for the CG Vibes Awards Contest, applicants must be female and age 12 or older as of December 31, 2004.
