LOS ANGELES (Napster) - Napster, a division of Roxio, today announced the immediate digital availability of the entire
Dave Matthews Band catalog via the Napster music service.
Previously available only on
Dave Matthews Band's own Web site, all of the band's albums, including the group's newest release, The Gorge, can be accessed in their entirety at https://www.Napster.com. Best Buy will join Napster in promoting the digital service debut nationwide through August 22nd and the
Dave Matthews Band catalog will continue to be part of both the Napster and Best Buy music offerings.
"We are extremely pleased that
Dave Matthews Band chose to bring its entire catalog to Napster before any competing service and our alliance with Best Buy will ensure that fans nationwide are aware that this incredible catalog is now available," said Chris Gorog, chairman and CEO of Napster and Roxio. "Dave Matthews Band is currently one of the most requested artists on Napster, and we expect DMB fans across the digital spectrum will be very excited to dive into all this great music."
"Getting our music into the hands of our fans has always been our number one concern," said
Dave Matthews Band. "This partnership with Napster and Best Buy will be a great way for us to increase our presence in the digital world."
Facilitating the debut of Dave Matthews Band on Napster before any competing service signifies the scope of Napster and Best Buy's unique marketing alliance, which was announced on June 24, 2004. Napster and Best Buy are promoting the digital availability of DMB's catalog with in-store, online and print visibility, leveraging the strength of both brands to provide music fans with compelling digital music experiences.
In addition, beginning this weekend and continuing while supplies last, the alliance is offering a free Digital Music Starter Kit featuring the Napster service to Best Buy in-store or online (https://www.BestBuy.com) customers who purchase any MP3 player or computer.
Designed to simplify consumers' forays into digital music, the Starter Kit features two free months of Napster's subscription service, 10 permanent download credits, 10 TDK CD-Rs and more than $100 in coupons.
Music fans can buy DMB content after downloading the free Napster application, which gives them the option to become a member of both the Napster Light a la carte download store and the service's on-demand monthly subscription offering ($9.95 per month), both of which feature more than 750,000 tracks from Napster's ever-growing, diverse online library.
All of Napster's permanent downloads can be burned to CDs and transferred to more than 75 compatible MP3 players.
