NEW YORK (www.ikereilly.com) - The Ike Reilly Assassination plans to release their new album, Sparkle In The Finish, on the Rock Ridge Music label on October 12th. Fronted by the always brash, happily- controversial Ike Reilly, The IRA is rounded out by Reilly's long-time bandmates Dave Cottini, drums; Tommy O'Donnell, bass; Phil Karnatz, guitar; and producer Ed Tinley on piano and guitar. Sparkle In The Finish will be distributed by Sixthman/ADA.

Sparkle is the follow-up to Reilly's highly-praised, best-of-2001-list entry Salesmen and Racists. That debut album prompted CMJ New Music Monthly to label Reilly "a master of intricate wordplay."
Much like Salesmen, Sparkle combines recklessness and unpredictability with pure confidence, lyrical candor and a greasy sexuality. It's a peek into Reilly's dark and sexy world of bank robbers, cross dressers, mythical garage bands, the rich, the dead, and the things that often drive them – lust, pills and booze.
All seen from the eyes of a wiseass everyman drifting through modern America, Reilly's songs are compelling, often times hilarious, and wholly original. Or, as his hometown weekly Chicago Reader called Salesmen: "...brainy and bilious tales of losers and schemers."

The IRA plans to tour heavily in support of Sparkle In The Finish. The band is currently on tour (see dates below), with many more dates to be announced. Of Reilly's live show, the New York Times trumpeted the "return of genuinely witty rock."
