New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) It was a full house in Veterans Memorial Park Saturday night as fans young and old gathered to watch American Idol winner Scotty McCreery perform live at the 20th annual Labadie Pig Gig.
The 18-year-old country singer made the Bay City stop during his first solo tour after winning the tenth season of "American Idol" in 2011 and releasing his debut album, "Clear as Day."
McCreery was the fourth national act to play at the Pig Gig this weekend, following sets from 90s blues-rock band The Spin Doctors on Thursday and rock bands Winger and Trapt on Friday. Diamond Rio will headline Sunday's show.
Coming onto the stage as audience members chanted his name, McCreery didn't disappoint fans as he launched into a set packed full of his well-known hits a little after 8 p.m. Saturday. Opening with the tune "Walk in the Country," McCreery kept one of the largest crowds in Labadie Pig Gig history entertained right from the start and continued the momentum with other hits such as "I Love You This Big."
