Lakeshore Records To Release Rubicon - Original Television Soundtrack Composed By Peter Nashel
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records will release Rubicon - Original Television Soundtrack digitally on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. The album features original score by Peter Nashel (Life on Mars, Dirty Sexy Money).

Peter Nashel is a New York based composer and producer who works extensively in feature film, documentaries, television and advertising. In addition to Rubicon, his television credits include Life on Mars, Dirty Sexy Money, NYC22 and Lie To Me. His feature and documentary credits include Bee Season, Carriers, The Deep End, the Emmy Award-nominated Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer and Academy Award-nominated No End In Sight.

Rubicon presented Nashel with the freedom to be creative with the music. He described, "From very early on, the executive producer, Henry Bromell, and I discussed the importance of the score in both setting the tone for the show and creating an interior world for the characters. There are long stretches in the show that are dialogue-free, allowing the score ample opportunity to accomplish both of those things, which is an exciting role for the music to play."

For example, "I had this idea early on that [lead character] Will's main instrument was going to be the cello, and I thought of it like this thinking man's instrument that I could do a lot of really cool stuff with and I was right. I utilized it and it really stood out," said Nashel.

Nothing is what it seems, everything is questioned, and clues hide in plain sight in the AMC original drama series Rubicon.

Inspired by the suspenseful and high-stakes political whodunits of the 1970s -- from The Parallax View to All The President's Men -- Rubicon is a modern-day conspiracy thriller that taps into the collective paranoia of a post-9/11 era. Set at the New York City-based American Policy Institute (API), a federal intelligence agency, Rubicon follows Will Travers, a beleaguered and brilliant API analyst who, after being faced with a shocking tragedy, begins to uncover clues that could point to a complex and sinister consipiracy.

"I decided to create a thoroughly modern score for Rubicon that combines electronics with orchestra," Nashel explained. "It has a dark, paranoid-sounding feel that uses shades of minimalism."

Rubicon originally aired on AMC in 2010. Time, TV Guide and The New York Times all named the series one of the best shows of that year. Rubicon - Original Television Soundtrack from Lakeshore Records will be available digitally on August 28, 2012.
