Music For Relaxation: Tron Syversen Promises Sacred Dreams With New US Album
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ B Company) In our stressful world, it's reassuring to know that pure relaxation and deep slumber can be just moments away with soothing music made to quiet the mind and body. Norwegian relaxation music pioneer Tron Syversen forges a gentle pathway to sleep, or to a meditative state, with his Alpha-wave inducing album, Sacred Dreams. The album, new to the U.S.A., offers ten gently-lulling songs with soft vocalizations fitting for all ages. Sacred Dreams is currently available in stores and online from Global Journey/TKMusic, distributed in the US via Allegro Distribution, Music Design and New Leaf Distributing.

F. H. Hedge, a New England Unitarian minister in the mid-1800s and founder of the Transcendentalist Club, once said "Dreaming is an act of pure imagination, attesting in all men a creative power, which if it were available in waking, would make every man a Dante or Shakespeare." A century later, this is possible, and Syversen created this particular album, Sacred Dreams, toward that end. Although the music is enjoyably lush and melodic, its rhythm calms and balances the two sides of the brain, effectively guiding people from an anxious Beta state into the relaxed "waking-sleep" Alpha state, where they can practice creative visualization, deep healing meditation, powerful problem-solving or, in some cases (especially with children) simply glide effortlessly into a deeper stage of sleep.

In a sense, one could say that his music is created by meditation, for meditation. Syversen's goals for his Tron Music label go far beyond entertaining. To date, he has composed nine albums aimed at stress relief and greater wellbeing, and his European success seems to be transferring to the U.S.; earlier this year, his album Peaceful Journey landed in the Top 5 on the ZMR ambient & new age radio chart. His fans say they can feel the loving intention that Syversen pours into his works, which often originate from within; like authors Dr. Wayne Dyer, Richard Bach and Shakti Gawain, he is a fan of The Silva Method meditation technique.

Sacred Dreams' beautiful melodies were intuited in a meditative state, he explains, then composed, recorded and produced with live instrumentation and vocals over a two year period. In similar fashion, Syversen -- an accomplished life-long musician with a broad musical range -- has co-created music with healer Runar Halonen, chronic pain physicians, meditation specialists and holistic therapists. At times, he collaborates "live" with poets, painters, and healers in inspiring spiritual sites like the ancient Italian monastery Abbazia di San Pietro or at his yellow summer cottage overlooking the deep-blue Oslo Fjord in Norway. "I believe artistic endeavors can inspire one another," Syversen explains, adding "In this creative process, I combine my improvisational skills as a jazz pianist and my understanding of how music affects our mental and physical health."

Combining music from the heart with technical skill, Sacred Dreams is characterized by serene melodies and scintillating instrumentation with a slight classical ambiance. Not only playing the piano and keyboards, Syversen's production, songwriting, arranging, and mixing talents are evident throughout. Essential to the album is the sensually-sweet voice of co-producer Elin Lokken that borders on magical, angelic, and otherworldly; the vocal delivery is primarily wordless hums with varying timbres and tones. Electric and acoustic violins are skillfully provided by Sunniva Bergsane, Ase Haga, and Lise Sorensen. Plaintive acoustic guitars by Glenn Kristiansen, Rolf Kristiansen, and Jorn Takla provide a calming, but engaging result throughout. In addition, Silje Katrine Gotaas plays the cello, and bassist Per Elias Drablos fills in the melodies with pinpoint precision. Additional embellishments on English horn and flute are provided by Henrik Eurenius and Randi Krogvold Lundquist, respectively. Upon hearing the depth of musicianship present in Sacred Dreams, it comes as no surprise that several of these accomplished artists also play for popular new age group, Secret Garden.

Music reviewer Dana Wright wrote, "Sacred Dreams is a symphonic album that evokes imagery of peaceful dreaming. Soft musical compositions erase cares and lull you into the arms of sleep, or relaxation for all types of therapeutic use. Syversen and Løkken have created the perfect sound for mothers to ease their child into slumber or to quiet an overactive mind. I found this album to be a soothing end to a hurried day."

Spas, holistic therapists, individuals and new parents will find this to be a powerful relaxation aide Syversen says, adding "My greatest hope is that this music will bring peace to body and mind, assisting others in realizing their most sacred dreams."
