LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Be Sharp PR) Artist: Pistols At Dawn
Title: 'Man.Wolf.Man', Single
Release Date: 24th September 2012
Label: Tres Beau Records

- "A spooked out version of Fleet Foxes" Amazing Radio
- "Part folk, part electronic and with a slight rock inkling […] A sinister darkness that won't fail to excite."Room Thirteen

Pistols At Dawn is an evolving recording-project-turned-band, consisting of Dan Mclachlan (lead vocals/guitar/keys/beats), Jim Calverley (bass), Matt Ball (drums) and Dave Williams (guitar). Together they create a heady mix of 70s folk, fused with beat-driven psychedelia. If Nick Cave and Fleet Foxes bowed to hip-hop influences it might well sound something like this.

Earlier in 2012, Pistols At Dawn released their debut album 'Tarnation' on their indie label Tres Beau Records. This first venture saw them blend slow burn, lo-fi beats with folk-tinged acoustic sounds and garner some very flattering comparisons to Fleet Foxes and Beck. New single 'Man.Wolf.Man' is taken from this debut album and displays the bands' signature stripped back instrumentation, set against a down-tempo groove, with Dan's woozy vocals floating above the mix.

The video features 'Wilson' the Wolf trying to live as an equal, but because he is different he is eventually taken away for vivisection by Professor Pfister's laboratory. Lead singer Dan describes the video as:"A reaction to communist ideals and the restriction of freedom of individualism in the Soviet Union, which is still clearly evident in the recent imprisonment of Russian punk band Pussy Riot. Wilson the Wolf is a true individual who stands out from society, but is still a happy and welcome member of it. Professor Pfister's laboratory represents the repressive government that sees individuality as a threat. Hence, Wilson is clubbed and taken away to be disposed of or experimented on."

The album 'Tarnation' is available to buy on iTunes, Amazon and HMV now. Pistols at Dawn will be playing the following live date before their single release:

25th September - Club Spangle@ The Bull & Gate, 389 Kentish Town Road, London
