New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Skylar Entertainment) Inspired by Woody Guthrie, Canada's godfather of punk, Joe Keithley has always been out to change the world, through almost 35 years of D.O.A., he and the band have taken on all brands of oppressors. Now Joe is trying to do it from inside the system, he is seeking the New Democratic Party (NDP) nomination in the British Columbia riding of Coquitlam - Burke Mountain.
"I've been working on trying to change Canada and this world into a better place from outside the system for the last 35 years," reflects Keithley, "now I will do my utmost to effect that change from inside the system. That's why I am running for the only progressive party, the NDP"
The NDP are a party committed to fairness and equality for all. At the age of 18, when Keithley left Burnaby North High, already a justice minded young student of politics, he joined the NDP. That only lasted a couple of years as his new band D.O.A. started to take off after the release of the
Disco Sucks 7" EP in 1978. Now he's back challenging for a seat in the BC Legislature and looking to help the people of Coquitlam , BC and Canada.
Meanwhile, D.O.A. celebrates 35 years with the release of their long awaited 14th studio album We Come In Peace and a 20 date tour across Canada starting on October 10. This is not the end for D.O.A., but these will likely be the last dates for four to eight years and who knows, maybe forever. We Come In Peace has all the firepower, politics and humor that are the cornerstones of any great D.O.A. album with special guest vocal appearances by Hugh Dillon (Headstones), Jello Biafra and Ben Kowalewicz (Billy Talent).

Canada's punk pioneers, have pulled out all the stops on this new red hot release. Produced by SEAN HOLOWAYCHUK, SHO MURRAY and Canada's godfather of punk JOE KEITHLEY, WE COME IN PEACE has all the firepower, politics and humor that are the cornerstones of any great D.O.A. album, but on this disc you'll see that KEITHLEY'S SONGWRITING has branched out in a most fruitful and adventurous way. The album takes a determined political stance with songs like: Dirty Bastards, We're Bloodied But Unbowed, He's Got A Gun and a stirring version of the TOXIC REASON'S War Hero. There's also a heavy slice of reggae/dub, with the uber-melodic Walk Through This World. You'll get your head ripped off with crushing anthems like: Who The Hell Do You Think You Are, Bring Out Your Dead and Boneyard, which features HUGH DILLON (HEADSTONES).
There's more great guest vocal appearances that feature JELLO BIAFRA on the anthemic We Occupy and BEN KOWALEWICZ (BILLY TALENT) on the frantic Do You Wanna. Perhaps the most uplifting moments of the album come later on with one Joe's best new compositions Lost Souls and his CLINT EASTWOOD/SPAGHETTI WESTERN opus The Man With No Name. Beatles classic song Revolution. Along the way Joe took his old friend JELLO BIAFRA'S advice and recorded an acoustic version of the D.O.A. classic General
