Out Today! Canadian Death Thrashers Mortor Release 'Shoot 'Em Up'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mortor Official Website) Canadian death thrashers MORTOR are proud to unleash today, Tuesday, September 18th their new sophomore album 'Shoot 'Em Up'. The 14 tracks of blistering speed, crushing riffs, and trademark catchy hooks is the follow up to their 2010 debut 'Metal Ride' and was recorded at Garage Studios by Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY, MYTHOSIS) and engineered by Mathieu Marcotte (AUGURY), both whom also made guest guitar solo appearances on tracks Point Black (guitar solo by Donaldson) and For Glory (guitar solo by Marcotte).

"When I first moved to Ottawa from Montreal 5 years ago, I didn't know anyone here, so I basically used computer applications to "build" the music of Mortor. Over time, real musicians have replaced the computer, which now just serves to compose and perfect the sounds we're looking for. Working on Mortor is a daily thing for me, and I never get sick of it. Having the other members of the band join me on the composition end of things has been fantastic. We're just guys playing the music we love. We're now looking to sign with a label and plan some tours. Of course, there will be more releases to follow as we're always overflowing with ideas and we always look forward to get up on stage to celebrate our accomplishments and have a great time - it's the cherry on top!" comments Mortor founder and guitarist David Paquette.

Born from the creative mind of rhythm guitarist David Paquette, Mortor began as a solo project that soon turned into a full-fledged band following Paquette's move from Montreal to Ottawa.

Founded in 2008, Mortor began sculpting and fine-tuning their metal sound while writing and playing live shows with one goal in mind: to bombard the world of extreme metal with their fresh, raw sound.

Heading into the studio, the band's fervor while recording was only matched by the viciousness of their attack on the local thrash scene. The resulting album, Metal Ride, was unleashed onto a rowdy crowd during Rockfest 2010.

Following several blows, including the departure of two band members, Mortor have finally picked up where they left off with the most technical and powerful lineup to date.

The result of this re-emergence is the soon to be released Shoot 'Em Up, a record that sees the band pushing the limits they set for themselves on their debut album with the introduction of blistering drum work, catchy guitar hooks and thundering bass lines on top of their punishing brand of death metal and thrash.
