Zippo Hot Tour voting in progress

LOS ANGELES (www.zippohottour.com) - The Fans Have Spoken: More than 10,000 music fans across the country are already on board to help find ZIPPO's hot band of 2004.

Between now and August 15, online music fans are voting at zippohottour.com for their favorite bands. More than 100 bands have qualified for Round One of the competition. Some of those qualifiers include: Parker Theory and 3 against 1 in San Diego; Trip | Cage and Undun in Denver; Smilin Liar and Bring Back Tomorrow in Minneapolis; autoReverse and 60 Second Crush in Detroit; Strangeway, Adam Evil & the Outside Royalty, and Tangerine in Pittsburgh; Patrick Rock Band, The Fifth, and Iconic in Raleigh; The Numb Ones and Trendkill in Palm Beach; Born to Lose and Balistica in Austin.

These bands all served as opening acts - in their respective cities - helping to launch Round One of the "ZIPPO HOT TOUR" at shows headlined by Abloom (former members from Soulfly, Snot, OneSideZero). Response to the initial live performances from these bands was outstanding.

In Austin, Mark Olivarez, General Manager of the Backroom - which played host to Abloom and several other Austin bands during the Zippo Hot Tour launch concert series - said, "It's great to be a part of the process and to continue to provide new music to the fans.
We're just happy to have the chance to possibly help to find the next big thing and be associated with a cool brand like Zippo."

The Round One winners will be announced some time in early September. These winners will play at Zippo Hot Tour showcases in their respective cities from October 1-November 20.
