Lana Del Rey will release 'Born To Die -The Paradise Edition' (Interscope/Polydor) including the original, multi-platinum album plus eight new tracks. The album's first new single "Ride," produced by Rick Rubin and recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, CA, is available today at digital retail.
The eight new songs on 'Born To Die -The Paradise Edition' will also be available as a stand-alone digital and CD release titled‚ 'Paradise,' on November 13. The complete set will be available in three formats: digital, double disc, and
Deluxe Box set, which will include a remix CD, a video DVD, 7" vinyl of Lana's cover of "Blue Velvet," and four art prints.
"Ride" was written by Lana and her "
Video Games" collaborator Justin Parker. A former bordello in the 50's, The Shangri-La studio became home to the likes of
Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton, and
Martin Scorsese used it as a location for "The Last Waltz."
Del Rey has spent much of 2012 touring the world performing songs from her album‚ 'Born To Die,' which has sold over 2.5 million copies and 4.5 million singles worldwide to date. She has covered issues of New York Times 'T Style,' Billboard, Complex and others, and collaborated with the likes of
A$AP Rocky ("I fell in love with her voice the first time I heard it") and
Bobby Womack ("She's one of a kind"). Last week, The New Yorker hailed her "performance full of warmth and texture" at a launch performance for H&M's fall campaign.
