LONDON, UK (Shattered Songs Records/ www.thesunbrothers.com) - London prog-pop auteurs The Sun Brothers have seen their debut release cause an instant reaction on the audioscrobbler website. They have risen 300 positions on the most listened to artists chart on the site, that unites music fans with similar tastes by their mp3 listening habits. This places them above a number of established artists based on the popularity of their eponymous debut album.

The band rejected the major label interest they had been exciting to record their album in their flat around their day jobs, setting up their own label, Shattered Songs, to release it. Their idiosyncratic approach is already showing a reward as online music fans rush to hear them. Offers have already come in to produce other artists from people who have heard their epic home made pop.

Singer Julian says, "The music industry still doesn't seem to understand online music users. Perhaps it's because you're just judged on your songs and publicity money doesn't count for as much. We made this record because it was something we wanted to listen to, and are really pleased with the response it's had. It doesn't really matter that you can't buy it in Tesco's."
