Music China Highlights Many Educational Seminars And Entertainment Events
HONG KONG, CHINA (Top40 Charts/ Messe Frankfurt Official Website) Music China, Asia Pacific's largest music event, will take place from 11 to 14 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China and offers a wide range of educational seminars and entertainment events.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Co Ltd, the China Musical Instrument Association (CMIA) and INTEX Shanghai, the 11th edition of the show is attracting 1,450 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions together with 11 international pavilions which will showcase the latest musical instruments and technologies.

Running concurrently with the show is a variety of educational seminars, instrument demonstrations, live shows and interactive events, including:

- The NAMM CMIA Industry Forum, jointly organised by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and China Musical Instrument Association (CMIA), panellists include the Australian Commercial and Entertainment Technologies Association, Pearl River and TianMu Music.

- The two-day NAMM University courses feature "how to" sessions tailored specifically for musical instrument retailers and dealers. Topics include "How to harness the power of print music: traffic builder, revenue generator, and critical tool for creating life-long musicians" presented by Mr Doug Lady, Senior Vice President of Hal Leonard Corporation (USA), and "How to proceed with digital music teaching" presented by Mr Wei Kaiyuan, General Manager of Icanmusic Company (China).

- The fifth edition of Drum Circles offers a unique opportunity for players of all ages to explore all kinds of musical and rhythm expressions through percussion instruments. The activity will take place from 12 to 13 October by percussionist Mr Takeshi Ishikawa.

- Making their first appearance at Music China will be The Musica Nova Chamber Group made up of well-known solo artists with the "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra from Bucharest in Romania. Performers include Mr Alexandru Preda (piano), Mr Constantin Bogdanas (violin), Mr Dorel Fodoreanu (cello), Mr Florian Popa (clarinet) and Mr Vladimir Mendelssohn (viola).

- Also launching at Music China is SchoolJam China, a school-band competition which is originated at the international Musikmesse in Germany. The winning school-band team from Germany will perform at Music China from 12 to 13 October.

- On display at Music China for the first time will be the Vintage Music Gallery, displaying a collection of antique Chinese musical instruments ranging from the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 A.D.) to modern China.

During Music China there will also be many live demonstrations and performances held indoors and outdoors including:

- The Falling Rock Show
- Tom Quayle, electric guitarist
- Saxitude Jazz Concert
- Mörglbl with Christophe Godin
- Dirk Verbeuren, drummer
- Tora Bora Boys, folk musicians
