Andrea Bocelli Announced As Winner Of The Raymond Weil Sponsored International Artist Of The Year Award
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ APR Communications) RAYMOND WEIL, the luxury Swiss watchmaker, is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the International Artist of the Year Award, which will be presented to Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli to mark his 20th anniversary in the music industry.

Andrea Bocelli, who has released 22 albums and sold over 75 million records worldwide, is to be presented with the prestigious award by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall on 2nd October at The Classic BRIT Awards 2012 in association with MasterCard for which RAYMOND WEIL is the official watch and timing partner.

The Classic BRIT Awards were launched in 2000 to honour the achievements of classical musicians and the growth of classical music sales in the UK. Among the previous winners are Bryn Terfel, Andrea Bocelli, Gustavo Dudamel and Charlotte Church.

This year's event will be hosted by Myleene Klass and will feature spectacular performances from the likes of André Rieu, Nicola Benedetti and Andrea Bocelli. Hollywood legend John Williams' Lifetime Achievement award will be celebrated by a visual and audio spectacular performed by the London Chamber Orchestra conducted by James Morgan. The orchestra will present a montage of John Williams' towering body of film score epics such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Superman, ET and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Nominees for this years event include the crème de la crème of the classical music world and include; Lang Lang, Vasily Petrenko, Alison Blasom, Joyce DiDonato, Noah Stewart, John Williams, Andrea Rieu and Hayley Westenra to name just a few.

This special Limited Edition RAYMOND WEIL Maestro watch will be presented to all performers, presenters and winners during the evening.
