NEW YORK (Artemis Records) - "Democracy is hard work. American democracy requires constant vigilance to survive and nothing short of total engagement to flourish. Voting is vital, but in times like these voting alone simply isn't enough. By the time some of you hear these songs the election will be over. Then the real struggle begins..." - Steve Earle, Fairview Tennessee - May 2004.

The majority of the Steve's new album was written and demoed while he was on tour last fall in support of the "Just An American Boy" documentary and live album. Produced by twangtrust (Steve Earle and Ray Kennedy), the new album is full of Earle's inimitably scathing commentary of current world events on politically charged songs such as 'F The CC' and 'Condi, Condi'.
Earle also duets with country legend Emmylou Harris on the beautiful 'Comin' Around'.

Included in the liner notes of the album is a letter from Steve. A political call to arms, much like the music on the album is, Steve touches upon importance of the upcoming elections and the dire need for social and political change. He signs the letter "Yours for the motherfuckin' revolution, Steve Earle."
