LOS ANGELES (Boosweet Records) - 2003 Smoothjazz.com 'Smoothie' award winning 'G-Fire', after a year of radio airplay on stations around the world which include commercial, NPR, college, internet, satellite, and cable subscription music channels, and music from the CD included on several top jazz related compilations with artists such as Michael McDonald, Daryl Hall, Spyro Gyra, Lee Ritenour, Mindi Abair, Art Blakey, George Benson, and other top names in the jazz field, Boosweet Records prepares to launch it's burning hot successor 'G-Fire II' in September.

Artist/Producer and founding member of the 'G-Fire' Vernon Neilly, has taken the upcoming release to a higher level by signing on former Warner Brothers, Verve Records recording artist and guitarist supreme Mark Whitfield.

Mark, who needs no introduction to the jazz world, has had a string of previous major market radio hits to his credit, as well original compositions on major movie soundtracks, and in television music. His guitar instructional videos still are some of the most in demand, and sought after learning materials by both private teachers, and guitar schools around the world. Mark Whitfield has worked with the Jazz elite such as Dizzy Gillespie, Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Dianne Reeves, Joe Williams, Terrence Blanchard, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, Stanley Turrentine, and others.

Mark has also stepped out of the Jazz realm to work with other artists such as R&B superstars D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Take 6, and Blues legend B.B. King. When asked about how he felt about being asked to be a part of 'G-Fire II' Mark replied, 'I was very impressed with the first G Fire project, and am always eager to participate in projects that include great creative artists. I am honored to be a part of this great event, and look forward to the release of G Fire II'.

Along with the addition of Mark Whitfield, 'G-Fire II' brings back Kevin Chokan musical director for the legendary diva Diana Ross, who is also the guitarist for R&B superstar Jeffrey Osborn, and has toured with Phillip Bailey, and Chaka Khan, popular Brazilian guitarist Miguel Mega, and 'G-Fire' founder Vernon Neilly who has also worked with many legendary artists in the music industry. These four journeymen musicians have put together a molten hot set of original compositions for the 'G-Fire II' CD release. Market testing has already brought back the word that the release will impact radio in a big way with the catchy 'LFO', 'POR MI AMOR', 'SMOOV GROOVE', and smooth as silk ballad, 'UNCONDITIONAL LOVE'.

In a recent interview when asked about difference between last years 'G-Fire' release, and the upcoming 'G-Fire II' release, 'G-Fire' member and founder Vernon Neilly commented, 'on this project we smoothed out the edges a little bit and made it more radio friendly, but we kept the diversity of various styles, and genres in tact so that the listener would not get bored with the same thing from track to track. Needless to say the playing on the project is great because the enthusiasm from the guys contributing is on the highest level. It is such a great honor to be joined by such a talented bunch of musicians, who along with myself had one goal in mind, and that was to create some great music that people will be able to listen to over and over again for years to come'.

Boosweet Records has already started taking, and selling advance orders on the project from it's fan base, and previous 'G-Fire' buyers who are getting the CD at a special rate of $8.99. 'This is a limited time special offer to our loyal supporters, but anyone interested in getting an advanced copy at the special rate just has to sign up for membership at our site, or contact the promotions department at [email protected] says Vernon'. 'Those wanting to take advantage of the special pricing should act quickly because there are only so many CD's allocated for this promotion, and for a project of this caliber at $8.99 our fan base has responded quickly!'

'G-Fire II' will impact radio in mid September, and will be available for purchase online in late September, and in retail stores nationally in October. For more information on the 'G-Fire II' release, all inquiries should be sent to [email protected].
