Future Of Music Coalition To Hold Annual Summit In Washington, DC On November 13, 2012
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Future of Music Coalition) Future of Music Coalition (FMC) ( https://futureofmusic.org ), a national nonprofit education, research, and advocacy organization for musicians, will hold its much anticipated Future of Music Summit on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, a mere week after the national elections of November 6.

2012 marks the 11th Future of Music Summit, an event that brings together musicians, entrepreneurs, law professionals, policymakers, academics, managers, innovators and students from across the globe for lively discussions on music in the digital age. Co-presented by New America Foundation and the Open Technology Institute, Summit 2012 takes place at the New America Foundation (https://www.newamerica.net ) in Washington, D.C. at 1899 L Street, N.W., Suite 400.

The summit will also be streamed live online. FMC encourages those not attending in person to participate in live viewing parties with friends, and engage in conversation with the broader community via social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

"We're making the summit a free, one-day event this year as part of an experiment to expand online participation and conversation," states FMC's Executive Director, Lissa Rosenthal. "We know many people in the music community are still being careful with their spending, so our goal is for more people in the US and across the world to join the conversation online. We hope everyone who watches will come away feeling more empowered to take action and work with us to create a sustainable future for musicians."

Speakers and panelists will be announced in mid-October; additional information can be found at https://bit.ly/Wo84Zy.

Advance registration for the event is at https://bit.ly/Wo8ak1
