fun. Unveil 2013 Tour Plans; New Music Video For "Carry On" Out Now!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Fueled By Ramen/ Atlantic Records) fun. has announced full details of their first U.S. tour of 2013. The trek gets underway January 23rd at St. Paul, Minnesota's Roy Wilkins Auditorium and then continues through a February 16th date at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium (see below itinerary). Among the tour's certain highlights is a February 2nd homecoming show on the Great Stage of New York City's world famous Radio City Music Hall - a date which sold out within minutes of its announcement earlier this month.

Pre-sale tickets for all other dates will go on sale Wednesday, October 24th, via https://fun.artistarena.com; all remaining tickets will then go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, October 26th. For full details and ticket availability, please see https://ournameisfun.com/tour.

In other news, the NYC-based band will join host Louis C.K. as musical guest on the next installment of NBC's Saturday Night Live, slated for November 3rd at 11:30 ET/PT (check local listings). The prestigious appearance continues an ever-increasing list of high profile TV performances, including Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, CBS' Late Show with David Letterman, NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and TODAY, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, TBS' Conan, VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live, E!'s Chelsea Lately, and the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Furthermore, fun. debuted their latest music video for "Carry On" earlier this week on Entertainment Weekly's 'Music Mix' blog. The video is now available for streaming over at the band's YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7yCLn-O-Y0.

fun. was recently named among the top nominees for the upcoming 40th Anniversary American Music Awards, earning nods as "New Artist of the Year" and "Pop/Rock Music: Favorite Band, Duo, or Group." Fans are invited to vote now via https://vote.abc.go.com/shows/american-music-awards/vote. The 40 Anniversary American Music Awards airs live on ABC on Sunday, November 18th at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT (check local listings).

An irresistible and indefatigable live band, fun has only just wrapped a massive European headline tour, an epic trek that featured both sold out headline dates and festival appearances across the Continent. The band will return to the road next Wednesday, October 31st for a sold out Halloween spectacular at Portland, Maine's State Theater, followed the next day by the start of the eagerly awaited REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour. Presented in partnership with non-profit group REVERB and Ben & Jerry's, the sold out tour will hit an array of colleges across the country, beginning November 4th at Rochester Institute of Technology's Gordon Field House in Rochester, New York. For more information, please see www.campusconsciousness.org.

The REVERB Campus Consciousness Tour (CCT) is both a concert and social consciousness campaign, aimed at educating and mobilizing students to take positive action for LGBTQ equality. In addition, the upcoming trek -- which marks the second year in a row that fun. has participated in the CCT -- will also offer support to The Ally Coalition (TAC), a newly launched partnership between fun. and designer Rachel Antonoff devoted to encouraging and inspiring the music, fashion, and entertainment communities to take action in support of LGBTQ equality. Furthermore, fun. will make a donation to TAC of one dollar for every ticket sold to all future tour dates. For more, please visit www.theallycoalition.org/, www.facebook.com/allycoalition, and twitter.com/allycoalition.

As if all that weren't enough, fun. will be among the superstars toplining an array of holiday themed radio concerts across the country, beginning Wednesday, November 28th with 96x's Winter Meltdown at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Other Yuletide highlights include Z100's annual Jingle Ball at New York City's Madison Square Garden, slated for Friday, December 7th. For complete details and ticket availability, please see https://ournameisfun.com/tour.

Having earned widespread acclaim with their 2009 debut album, "AIM AND IGNITE," fun. decided to raise the stakes with "SOME NIGHTS" by teaming with noted producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Drake). The band and Bhasker have worked to evolve the idiosyncratic fun. sound by marrying their robust melodies with elements of hip-hop.

Fueled by "We Are Young," the band's smash Fueled By Ramen debut album, "SOME NIGHTS" entered Billboard's "Top Current Albums" chart at #2 upon its February release, while also making a top 3 entry onto the Billboard 200. In addition to its spectacular commercial success, the album has also earned ecstatic critical praise, with Rolling Stone applauding its blend of "classic bubble-pop tunefulness with rococo rock & roll" as well as singer Nate Ruess' "huge voice, all snarl and Broadway panache." SPIN hailed the album's "combination of record-collector bravado and lyrical vulnerability," singling out "the towering, thrilling 'One Foot'" and "the do-the-robot opening-to-the-car-with-the-windows-down anthem 'It Gets Better.'" The New York Times praised the band for their "grandiose pop tunes with complex structures, soaring hooks, and pensive verses."

"We Are Young (Feat. Janelle Monáe)" quickly catapulted fun. to the forefront of modern pop. The top-selling track of 2012 thus far, the single spent six consecutive weeks atop Billboard's "Hot 100," earning 5x RIAA platinum for sales now approaching 6 million. What's more, "We Are Young" made history with seven successive weeks of sales in excess of 300,000, toppling the previous record held by Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie (Feat. Rihanna)," the only other title ever to have five straight weeks with sales over 300,000.

"Some Nights," the band's latest million-selling single, has also proven an historic smash. The track followed the #1 success of "We Are Young" by topping the airplay charts at Alternative radio outlets nationwide, placing fun. alongside Green Day and Alanis Morissette as the only three acts in Alternative chart history to score consecutive #1s at the format with their first pair of singles.

In addition, "Some Nights" is currently scoring at multi-format radio outlets everywhere, with top 5 play at Hot AC and CHR/Pop, as well as top 10 chart success at Triple A. "Carry On," the next single from "SOME NIGHTS," is set to impact soon at Alternative radio outlets nationwide.

fun. has also begun to reap a bounty of awards and other honors, including a pair of top trophies at Fox's annual Teen Choice Awards. What's more, the band has received prestigious nominations for such accolades as MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Q Awards, mtvU Woodie Awards, and Logo's NewNowNext Awards.
