Independent Artist And Active Duty Soldier Lets Her Double Lives Blend In Honor Of Veterans Day
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Mathilda's Choice Music) Sergeant Corrin Campbell, self-proclaimed "certified auto tune free" combat veteran and pop/rock independent artist, will contribute all proceeds of "Where I Stand - A Soldier's Perspective", her 2-song single, to the USO. It will be available through most digital distributors and on her artist website Nov. 6, 2012.

The two songs, "Remember Me" and "Where I Stand", are the only two songs the independent artist has specifically written about her experiences as a soldier. The first is a song about leaving her young brother back home to join the Army; the second is an anthem of why she did it.

For the last five years, Campbell has been leading double lives: one as a full-time soldier in the U.S. Army, and another as a DIY independent artist, touring on her limited leave days, writing and recording on the weekends, and working to make a name in the music industry. With performances at Lilith Fair, the foot of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. and festivals all over the United States, it's obvious this double duty works for Campbell. "My goal was always to keep the worlds separate. I didn't want any feeling that I was exploiting the public's support of my military service to get ahead in my music career," said the Duluth, MN native. But for Veterans Day this year, Campbell has decided to let the worlds collide for a good cause.

So why the change of heart? "My deployment to Iraq in 2004 really gave me an opportunity to see the effect of live music in combat areas," said Campbell. "I saw the soldiers who had been out keeping the peace in Baghdad return to home base, felt the weight they were carrying because of what they had experienced. You can't imagine the relief we all felt when Robin Williams or Toby Keith came through; not just to bring us a piece of home, but also to come all that way and say 'Politics aside, you - as a service member - are appreciated'."

That very message is what Campbell & The Election hope to bring forth with their new project. "It's not really a coincidence that the release is on Election Day," admitted Campbell. "Regardless of the results of the election, let's pull together on Veterans Day - and every day. Let's support my brothers and sisters in arms who have made that honorable choice: to support you, your liberty, and whoever you put in that Oval Office."

The second track from the independent artist features Ethan Luck, of multiple groups including Relient K and The OC Supertones, on lead guitar. "He's an outstanding musician," Campbell said, "and he has family that served in the military. I think he really understood what we were trying to say in 'Remember Me', and we were thrilled Ethan was willing to pitch in to benefit those who serve."

Pre-orders of the project are available now on Campbell's official website for $1.50 and will be delivered a week early on Oct. 31, 2012. It will be available worldwide through digital distributors Nov. 6, 2012. All proceeds will be donated to the USO.
