His birthdate was originally supposed to be set for Valentines Day 1989, however being born 2 months premature he fought for his life for close to 2 months in an incubator. Coincidentally he was released the day before Valentines day, a wild start to life indeed. Zio grew up in a single parent home for most of his early childhood, beings that his father was incarcerated from age 3-11. Undeterred, this young bright minded kid seemed to have an oracle aura about him.


In less than 6 months after his first studio recording he captured the attention of Dwayne Muhammad founder of the Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards, and became nominated as "The Best Male" hip hop artist in the city up against local rival Wiz Khalifa.
