Big Gigantic Announces 2013 Headlining Tour Dates
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) BIG GIGANTIC shows no signs of slowing down in 2013. As the electronic duo wrap their current "Uprising Tour" this weekend with a sold-out show in Athens, GA, saxophonist/producer DOMINIC LALLI and drummer JEREMY SALKEN have just announced the dates for their 2013 headlining winter tour. The 24-date outing kicks off January29 in Birmingham, AL and will take them throughout the south and east coast to such cities as Atlanta, Louisville, Columbus, Albany and Boston before playing New York City on February 16 at Terminal 5. Next, they'll stop in New Haven, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Memphis, Austin, Houston and Dallas before concluding March 3 in Oklahoma City. Tickets go on sale today Friday, November 30. See below for full tour dates.

The Boulder, CO-based electronic act had quite a year in 2012. Their latest album NOCTURNAL was released in January via their own label Big Gigantic Records as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net and has already received over 250,000 downloads to date. LALLI and SALKEN then took on the U.S. festival circuit performing to rave reviews at such top festivals like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Ultra Music Festival, Wakarusa, Hangout, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Governor's Ball, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, where they were chosen as one of the "10 Must-See Acts" by Rolling Stone. As SPIN noted in their July/August issue, BIGGIGANTIC ranked among the Top 20 artists with the most festival appearances during the summer season. Their current "Uprising Tour" kicked off with a sold-out show dubbed "Rowdytown" at Red Rocks Amphitheatre September 29, marking their first headlining spot at their famed hometown venue. Justin Olsen from NITEGUIDEMAGAZINE best described their October 5 show at the House of Blues West Hollywood noting, "If there's one word to describe a Big Gigantic show, it's 'Rowdy.' Multi-tasking between playing drums, saxophone and DJing samples, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken provide an EDM experience that's unique and trendsetting in current times" (November). The 45-date tour has featured over 2/3 of sold-out shows and continues to receive critical acclaim with the press (see below). Following the tour, BIG GIGANTIC will end the year with a handful of big shows including performances at "BassLights" with Bassnectar and Pretty Lights December 28 in Hampton, VA and the SnowGlobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe on December29. They'll then ring in 2013 for the second year in a row in Chicago performing at the Aragon Ballroom on New Year's Eve with support from GRiZ and Manic Focus, followed by performances in early January on both HOLY SHIP!! and Jam Cruise, marking the first band to ever play both cruises.

Additional critical quotes about BIG GIGANTIC's "Uprising Tour":
"When the band started, it was easy to see where its sizable reputation comes from - most notably its catchy sound and danceable grooves. Laptop programmed beats formed the foundation as the band traded riffs back and forth between drums and saxophone. Live drums kept things fluid and lively while the sax made the songs soar instead of just throb... If more bands put that much effort into their stage show, the world would be a much better place." - osh Gross, BOISE WEEKLY (10/21)

"From the impressive lightshow to the bombastic beats and soaring sax improvisations, Big Gigantic lived up to both halves of their name, and left the stage reminding the audience that electronic music is still an open template with endless possibilities."- Jed Nussbaum, Relix.com (11/1)

"Big Gigantic. What's in a name? What does a name mean? It didn't take long for Dominic Lalli (Saxophone/Producer) and Jeremy Salken(Drums) to provide an explanation as the House of Blues turned into an LED infused wonderland. The Boulder based duo asked the crowd to do it big as they took the stage, and big…well that doesn't even begin to describe it. The massivestage setup they brought with them to New Orleans reminded me of if Daft Punk's Pyramid collided with DEVO's domes. IT WAS HUGE. So huge I don't know how they got it inside the building but as the first smooth sax note and pillowing synth beats began pouring over the crowd during 'Rise and Shine,' the cocoon-like structure came to life in a beautiful way. Live drums when added with a saxophone is what sets this electronic act…or shall you say jamtronica act apart from the rest." - Ryan Smelley, NOLA.LIVEMUSICBLOG.COM (11/20)

"They blew the roof off with their signature style of Jam-styled acoustic/electronic dance tunes." - LSU DAILY REVEILLE (11/20)

"It's nearly impossible to describe to you this light show they put on. It had to be one of the best I've ever seen…Big G's stage presence was one of a kind. Dom along with producing the music, played the saxophone, which had to be the most beautiful aspect about the show." - Sassa Cass, THEDANKLES.COM (10/29)

"Once their set started, Big G did not slow down; they brought the funk, the soul, the groove and whatever other adjective you could think of that simply means, they were phenomenal. By showcasing Lalli's prodigious musical talent and incorporating his saxophone in nearly every song and combining that with Salken's superior percussion skill, the crowd was left with their jaws dropped and their bodies continuously moving." - TECHIBEATS.COM (10/3)

"The music I had just experienced rejuvenated my relationship with electronic dance music; it reminded me why the rise of electronic dance music (EDM) makes perfect sense, and why it can be so awesome." - Drew Parrish, USD RADIO (10/8)

"Their show comprehensively covers every sub-genre of EDM while simultaneously creating their own. While electronic music is as popular as ever and live shows have become a staple in every big city's night life, it's rare to see EDM artists actually recreate their music live. This is where Big Gigantic separates themselves from the masses. You will be hard-pressed to find another artist work as hard as these two do on stage…The music they create and perform hasn't shifted or changed but rather evolved showing influence from multiple sub-genres of electro while maintaining a foundation of live sax and drums that will literally make you dance for hours straight." - SWEATY320.COM (10/9)

"While many DJ's fail to execute an exciting live show, Big Gigantic brought a fresh twist on electronic music." - Luther Kuefner, LA PUMA (10/16)

"What sets Big Gigantic apart from most DJs is the inclusion of live instruments during their set. Who knew that a saxophone sounded so good over hip-hop?…Lalli creates catchy beats on his laptop, drawing in on hip-hop influences while simultaneously ripping jazz solos on his saxophone. Salken's drums not only compliment but also unify the saxophone and the electronic music coming from Lalli's laptop…It is refreshing to see such musical talent channeled in such a creative way. Big Gigantic's sound is a change of pace for the EDM scene." - Colin Gordon, THE GRIFFIN (11/9)
