New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Gearing up for the release of his U.S. debut, The Other Side (Release date: February 19, 2013; Bumstead Records), golden-voiced performer/songwriter and multi-intrumentalist TIM CHAISSON has already been making a waves up North in his native Canada and with this album, he's set his sights on the US.
Described by The Guardian as "a handsomely crafted piece of work," The Other Side marks Tim's strongest release to date, combining the breezy maritime charm with his smooth and velvety vocals. From the acoustic waltzy lilt of the opening track "Beat This Heat" to the plaintively soaring "Come Clean" to emotionally vulnerable "The Healing", the album is a stripped-down and intimate taster of Chaisson's honest and heartfelt writing, incorporating a host of acoustic instruments and warm, transparent production by Colin Linden (Bruce Cockburn, Lucinda Williams, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings). Lyrically, he explores his breadth of life experience, both from an intimate and personal perspective through to a more universal take on love and loss, friendship and loneliness, isolation and fulfillment. "These lyrics are very close to me," he says, and that's more apparent in his delivery throughout the album.

Having grown up in a music-centric family in the small town of Souris, PEI, Chaisson quickly discovered not only a passion, but also a knack for music, and into his teens became a talented multi-instrumentalist. This quickly became a full-time endeavor, earning Chaisson awards and accolades including COCA Emerging Artist of the Year and the prestigious honor of being chosen as Musical Director for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's high-publicized Royal Visit to Prince Edward Island in 2011.
Now, with The Other Side, Chaisson is poised to reach a new distinction far beyond "Canada's best kept secret.
