Wanting Receives 10 Nominations For China's Chinese Music Chart Awards
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nettwerk Music Group congratulates Wanting on her 10 Chinese Music Chart Awards nominations. The Vancouver-based, Chinese-born singer/songwriter released her debut album, Everything In The World, in her homeland during the summer of 2011, where it went Platinum in less than one week. Today, the album has erupted in and around the territory, going Triple Platinum in China, Double Platinum in Hong Kong and Platinum in Malaysia.

Wanting's 10 nominations include "Album of the Year, Mainland China," "Most Popular New Artist Of The Year, Mainland China," "Most Popular Female Singer, Mainland China," "Best Singer/Songwriter Of The Year, Mainland China," "Best Female Singer, Mainland China," "Best New Singer/Songwriter of the Year, Mainland China," "Best Album Producer, Hong Kong and Taiwan." Her stand-out single "You Exist In My Song" (which was featured in the Chinese indie cult film Love In The Buff) has been nominated for "Lyrics of the Year, Mainland China," Melody of the Year, Mainland China," "Best Music Arrangement, Hong Kong and Taiwan." Watch the video above.

Wanting has achieved more than 10 million combined views on YouTube, 8 million combined views on Chinese YouTube (YouKu) and has more than 600,000 followers on Chinese Twitter (Weibo). She has also been featured in a slew of North American press, from CBC's The Q with Jian Ghomeshi, The Atlantic, Billboard.biz and CBC's The National, to major Chinese-language media like Sinovision, World Journal, Sing Tao and Epoch Times. Whether penned in her native tongue of Mandarin or English (which she only learned to speak at age 16), Wanting's piano-swept music wins over the masses because her compositions—pop musings that plumb emotion-resonate universally.
