New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Long Island philanthropist, and animal lover, Dahna Bender, is using her gift as a vocalist to help mend lives devastated by the storm. Ms. Bender is donating the proceeds from her new holiday album, Giving of the Heart, to the American Humane Association, Red Starâ„¢ Animal Emergency Services in support of the work they have been doing for all those affected by Hurricane Sandy in Long Island, Staten Island and New Jersey.
The AHA's Red Star Animal Emergency Services has been on the ground assisting families and animals since the storm hit, providing food, litter, medicine and emergency services. The AHA's Red Starâ„¢ Animal Emergency Services has an exceptional record dating back to 1916 for helping in disaster stricken areas. Equipped with at least 100 volunteers on standby at all times, an 82 ft. "Rescue Rig," and extensive pet supplies, the AHA and its services are effectively positioned to lend a hand to communities in need.
