New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Since releasing their debut LP two years ago, French duo Bot'Ox has embarked on a new project consisting of six EPs to be released over the course of one year. The culmination of releases by Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz will reveal a single story. The first piece of the puzzle is the Basement Love EP, which was released December 10 viaI'm A Cliché.
The release consists of the self-titled single and three dancefloor-worthy remixes. "Basement Love" features vocals by American DJ jOHNNYDANGEROUs, who first teamed up with Bot'Ox for their Perfect Pair EP in 2011. Check out the "Basement Love" MP3 where it premiered with FADER today or here:
Directed by Pablo Padovani, the "Basement Love" video takes viewers on an eerie David Lynch-esque voyage complete with a secret cryptic message and a fervent, almost possessed solo dance number.
On the EP, Cosmo Vitelli himself reinterprets the track with plenty of bass, buzzing synths, and an infectious beat, making it a track sure to get you on your feet. Rebolledo and Superpitcher of Pachanga Boys take the track to a whole new level with their techo-infused extended version. The EP comes to a close with the Richard Fearless (Death In Vegas) mix, a dark, psychedelic track featuring deep, distorted vocals, echoing sirens, and eerie sound effects that build an air of mystery.
Stay tuned for more from Bot'Ox coming later this year!
