Atlanta, GA. (Top40 Charts) The Mayan long count calendar is acting more like a badly behaved celebrity. Frightful rumors and gossip have been spreading for years now. We already have over a half dozen books and movies marketing, to doomsday preppers with astronomical fears about 2012's end of time with cracking continents, plunging asteroids, burning cities and tsunamis threatening the end of life.
NASA does not think the world will end but Atlanta party goers are taking no chances. When this once every 5000 years event finally arrives people will be gathering at Andrews Entertainment District on Friday, December, 21st 2012 at 7PM for a Mayan calendar countdown to see if the world as we know will cease to exist. Atlanta top 40 Radio station All The Hits Q100, Shock Top The Official Beer of the End of the World, Jose Cuervo , ATL Nightlife and Andrews District have teamed up to make this a once in a lifetime party. The 30,000 square foot entertainment district will transform into a Mayan wonderland with two 100 square foot Mayan Temples, an architectural replica of the Mayan Calendar, Mayan cocktails and sexy priestess throughout. DJ Kidd Starr & Ryan Hickey & The Saints will be performing that evening and at 12:01 there will be a balloon drop with $1,000's in cash and prizes for the survivors.
Andrews District president Steve de Haan said, "I don't know about you, but having thousands of people gathering for a once in a 100 lifetimes event sounds pretty exciting. If the world does not end maybe those left standing will be able to tell their grandchildren how they survived the 'End of the World Party' sponsored by 'All The Hits' Q100, Jose Cuervo & Shock Top."
Tickets are $5 in advance and may be purchased at www.andrewsdistrict.com and www.top40-charts.com.
