New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic recording group
Halestorm is wrapping up an extraordinary year with a Grammy Award nomination, with their breakthrough single, "Love Bites (So Do I)," named in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" category. The band will celebrate with a live performance of their chart-topping smash on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, scheduled for Tuesday, January 29th (check local listings); the 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 10th, 2013 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8-11:30 pm (ET/PT).
Halestorm will conclude 2012 with a much anticipated winter tour, hitting the road December 27th at The Electric Factory in Philadelphia and continuing on through late January (see itinerary below). Among the trek's certain highlights is a New Year's Eve extravaganza, slated for December 31st at Baltimore's Baltimore Soundstage. The winter tour follows the band's recently concluded sold-out headlining run on the Jägermeister Presents
Halestorm Tour.
Halestorm has had an incredible year, with their stunning sophomore release, "THE STRANGE CASE OF..." debuting at #1 on Billboard's "Hard Rock Albums" chart, while also making a top 15 entry onto the overall Billboard 200. The album's phenomenal success was fueled in part by the electrifying single, "Love Bites (So Do I)," which made history earlier this year by ascending to #1 at Active Rock radio outlets nationwide, marking
Halestorm as the first-ever female-fronted group to top the format's airplay ranking.
Produced by
Howard Benson (who previously collaborated with
Halestorm on their self-titled 2009 debut), "THE STRANGE CASE OF..." features new single "Freak Like Me," which is starting to soar at Active Rock. The album also includes the top 3 Active Rock favorite, "I Miss The Misery," as well as "Here's To Us," which shot to #1 on iTunes' "Top Rock Songs" chart after being featured in a February 2012 episode of Fox's hit series, Glee.
Along with its popular success, "THE STRANGE CASE OF..." drew copious critical acclaim, with Billboard praising the collection as "full of chugging riffs, wailing solos, drums that kick like a boot to the gut, and never-out-of-style soft/loud dynamics that lead to massive choruses." What's more, the album has made frontwoman Lzzy Hale an unadulterated rock icon, including two memorable turns as cover star of Revolver's annual "Hottest
Chicks In Hard Rock" issue.
True road warriors,
Halestorm spent much of the year on tour, including countless headline dates around the world, support slots alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, fellow Atlantic recording group Staind, and the one and only Alice Cooper, and festival tours like the Carnival of
Madness 2012 Tour with
Evanescence and the recently concluded Jägermeister Presents
Halestorm Tour.
