Fort Lauderdale Singer Songwriter WiL Dix Releases Premier Neo Soul LP "WiL"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Neo soul singer songwriter from Fort Lauderdale WiL Dix releases his premier LP album, "WiL." The record, largely comprised of slow jams for the new era that break almost every convention of the genre, contains twelve tracks in 45 minutes of play, making it an excellent value for the fan of rhythm n' blues or modern soul alike. WiL Dix's collection contains all original tracks that range in tone from the delicately crooning to the almost aggressive, utilizing modern hip hop back beats and melody lines that never sound derivative or under-orchestrated.

The lyrical content of "WiL" (short for Why I Live) is almost entirely romantic, in the vein of classic greats like Al Green or, to a lesser degree, Otis Redding. His themes often move into the realm of passion more than they do a vanilla, Disney-esque love affair, which is one of the elements of his neo soul attitude. His phrasing stays forward and behind the the beat in the tradition of the best soul singers of the seventies, however, and WiL is never guilty of "oversouling," that terrible modern trend of using far too much melisma (a la Christina Aguilera). His actual phrases come from a long personal experience of writing poetry.

"I tend toward melodies with life experience lyrics, or vice versa, with tunes that look at both sides of the coin," WiL writes of his music. "Several songs deal with life and how love affects our ability to embrace life and acknowledge the limitations of existence, but also how beauty can be found in melancholy. The idea of a broken heart is better than having no heart at all."

When asked whether his album has a particular message for his listeners, WiL plays close to his chest, saying, "No message necessarily. I kind of just let the music and life experiences out. From there, the music writes itself."

WiL Dix's LP "WiL" is available online everywhere beginning early January, 2013.

The EP "WiL" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes or www.top40-charts.com for convenient purchase and download
