Beatles Complete On Ukulele Returns To Brooklyn Bowl: Featuring Special Guests Mike Doughty, Angela McCluskey, Martin Rivas, Anya Marina, Terre Roche, And More!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Beatles Complete on Ukulele returns for its 4th year to Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday January 23rd at 8pm, with special guests Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing), Angela McCluskey, Martin Rivas, Anya Marina, Terre Roche, Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Julian Velard, and a plethora of popular artists recreating 64 of the Beatles' Greatest Hits. All artists will be backed by a band of notable New York session musicians and fronted by Record Producer/ Composer/ Ukulele Leader Roger McEvoy Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, The Pierces, Albert Hammond Jr.). Greenawalt, whom The New York Times calls a "ukulele aficionado" founded the event and will play ukulele on every song from memory.

Greenawalt is now in the second year of his historic lifetime performance piece wherein he brings his ukulele everywhere he goes. A champion of curating the Beatles catalog into a living language-- Greenawalt has also performed the marathon multiple times during SXSW and will be debuting it in Los Angeles in March 2013. Throughout the years guests have included Nellie McKay, Adam Green, The Pierces, and Freedy Johnston. Many of the artists performing this year have already helped to recreate the tunes with Greenawalt and his ukulele for his Beatles Complete on Ukulele audio project which can be streamed here: https://beatlescompleteonukulele.com/

The event, which has been recognized by The New York Times, SPIN, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and NPR just to name a few, will start promptly at 8pm and offers free entry to anyone who arrives by 7:30pm with a ukulele. Those with ukuleles may join The Uke Mob on stage for the first song. The night promises to be a feel good, rockin' good time with energetic and unexpected performances. Past years have found artists jumping off stage and breaking into improvisational choreography, as well as audience members joining in on choruses of some of the most well-known and timeless Beatles songs. Full details and a list of performers are below.
