The Weeknd "Trilogy" Certified Gold
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) THE WEEKND'sunanimously acclaimed debut LP, Trilogy [XO/Republic Records], has been officially certified Gold by the RIAA since hitting stores in November 2012.Simultaneously, the album reached Gold status in the alternative R&B troubadour's native Canada as well. This is the first release between XO, the visionary creative collective behind THE WEEKND, and REPUBLIC RECORDS (a division of UMG).

"Songs like 'Crew Love' and 'The Zone' are what people wait to hear all night."

This sprawling 30-song collection continues to transfix listeners and tastemakers alike, debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and selling over 86,000 during its first week in stores. Meanwhile, the album hit #2 on iTunes Overall Albums Chart and #1 on the site's R&B chart.

These numbers remain a testament to the music's power as Trilogyincludes mixed and mastered versions of THE WEEKND's three 2011 groundbreaking mixtapes, House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silencewith three brand new gems, "Twenty Eight,""Valerie," and "Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun)." However, fans have opted to go on the entire journey with him.

Everyone who takes this trip comes back for more. The New York Times called him "other worldly," The Source named him "Songbird of his generation," while The Guardian dubbed him a "blatantly provocative and daring new artist." Spin put it best in two simple words: "Totally amazing." His peers echo that excitement. Superstar Drake adds, "Songs like 'Crew Love' and 'The Zone' are what people wait to hear all night."

The night certainly belongs to THE WEEKND, and it's going to be his for a very long time to come.
