Tampa, Fla. (Top40 Charts/ Urban Addiction Entertainment Group) It's been a seemingly long time coming since high-profile Central Florida super group Splitta
Squad blessed the rap game with a brand new body of work. But now the wait is finally over as their long-overdue album The Re-Creation is here and hits the streets today.
The LP is currently offered in two versions. A free version hosted by Terror Squad's DJ Christion is available on datpiff.com and the original version is available for download via iTunes.
Taking their time to construct a flawless masterpiece, group members Great and Chucky Boy return like they have something to prove and deliver a more modern-day approach to feel-good music.
The LP is fueled by their latest single "Do It." Produced by M.Rell (who also produced their last single "
Superstar"), the sexually-charged track is a highly contagious strip club anthem that has been circulating through the South and heavily downloaded on Digiwaxx and GreenHitz.com since its release late last year.
"I do things that even impress myself with," says Great. "As a group or a solo artist, I try to do things I don't think I can do or that no one has done. What makes us so special as a group is the fact that we both come with so many different angles."
And that is exactly what they have done with The Re-Creation. Chock full of amazing beats from the likes of M. Rell, Deep Productions and L&L Productionz, the album refreshes the spirits by with tranquil relaxation and more musical enjoyment than the average listener can muster.
Offering something for everyone and every mood, The Re-Creation is the perfect soundtrack to crank up the clubs, serenade the ladies, run the streets with your boys or hit the highway and press play. From beginning to end, this is more than music. This is an adventure.
"We touch on pretty much every sound: techno, dub step, you name it!" says Chuck. "Our combinations of style, skill and love for the different genres of music make us like no other rap group ever."
And they have proven that fact time and time again. Officially stepping onto the rap scene in 2007 with their self-titled EP, Splitta
Squad gained regional fame with popular singles "Hustlers Cry," "Squidy Up," "Squad Sings" and "Who I Be."
They maintained a growing fan base over the years with Southern classics "Keep Jukin," "She Lies," "Bobblehead," "Can't Juke Without Me," and most noted Trick Daddy's "J.O.D.D.," which features Tampa Tony and Khia. "J.O.D.D." was featured in the movies - Into The Blue & 40 Year Old Virgin as well as the video game - Midnight Club 3 - Dub City.
Most recently, they released B-side techno/pop crossover single "Show Off" produced by Bryan Tyson of Deep Productions. The record has been making major waves overseas and later this month, the group is readying for the accompanying music video directed by videographer Jeff Osbourne.
Nowadays, their focus is on giving the people what they have been begging for. And their pleas have ultimately been answered with today's release of The Re-Creation. The game may never be the same.
