Britney Spears And Jason Trawick End Engagement

LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Britney Spears and Trawick confirmed their parting in a statement her rep released to PEOPLE:
"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Adds Trawick: "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."

According to social media, they never took steps to plan a wedding, which seemed strange to those close to her, considering Britney had been "pushing to move the relationship forward" and "really wanted to get engaged and have a wedding."

Also, Britney Spears officially confirms that she won't be returning to The X Factor as she expresses her intention to get back into the studio to cut her eighth album. Sources say the house Britney just bought - $8.5 mil in Thousand Oaks, CA - was purchased solely with her money and Jason has no claim to it.
