Crystal Shawanda Set To Perform In Washington, DC At Native Nations Inaugural Ball
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) Country music artist, Crystal Shawanda, has been selected to perform during the Native Nations Inaugural Ball, which takes place at The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian on the evening of the Presidential Inauguration, January 21, 2013.

This event will not only celebrate this historic civic event, but will also serve as a fundraiser for the museum in its effort to produce educational programs relevant to Tribal Nations issues.

"To Native Americans, music is everything," says Shawanda, who is a member of the Ojibway tribe. "It's our history, our dance, and used to remember important events. I hope that my music on this historic evening with help honor and celebrate the inauguration of the nation's 44th President."

Born on the Wikwemikong Native Reservation on Canada's Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Crystal Shawanda was automatically country, joined to the land and the real stories of everyday people. Her debut album "Dawn of a New Day" was Billboard's highest charting album by a Native American in history, and sold over 400,000 copies. In 2009, Crystal was named the Canadian Country Music Association's Female Artist of the Year. With the release of a new studio album, entitled "Just Like You" on her newly launched record label, New Sun Records, Crystal is touring the US and Canada.
