New York, NY (Top40 Charts) VIMN International Media Networks today announced that the most played video across its 60 MTV channels was GOTYE FEAT. KIMBRA "
Somebody That I Used To Know".
Carly Rae Jepsen and Fun received a double platinum award each for their respective singles "
Call Me Maybe" and "
We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monae. Fun also took home a platinum award for their single "
Some Nights".
Fun was not the only band to win more than one award. A number of artists took home two platinum awards including
Maroon 5 for "
Payphone" featuring
Wiz Khalifa and "
One More Night",
Katy Perry for "
Wide Awake" and "Part of Me",
Rihanna for "
Where Have You Been" and "
We Found Love" and
David Guetta for "
Titanium" featuring Sia and "
Turn Me On" featuring Nicki Minaj.
The top 50 videos were aired in total over 550,000 times across 60 MTV channels around the world (excluding all MTV US channels) over the course of 2012. Three videos won double platinum, each achieving over 20,000 plays, 25 videos gained Platinum status for over 10,000 plays each, while 22 further videos gained Gold status with more than 5000 plays.

The MTV Video Play Awards emphasise MTV's commitment to supporting new acts, championing up and coming artists and launching them around the world. Six of the 50 videos were MTV PUSH artists throughout 2012, MTV's global campaign that promotes the hottest new talent to audiences across all platforms. The six PUSH artists who won awards are
Gotye (who came out on top), Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun, Of Monsters and Men,
Rita Ora and Rudimental.
