Rosemary Conte Nominated, Along With Jon Bon Jovi, For Jersey Acoustic Music Awards
Matawan, NJ (Top40 Charts / Rosemary Conte Official Website) Rosemary Conte, a long-time Jersey Shore artist, has been nominated for the prestigious Jersey Music Acoustic Awards for her efforts to help with Hurricane Sandy relief. Ms. Conte joins a celebrated group of artists, including Jon Bon Jovi , for the Musicians on a Mission Award.

The MUSICIANS ON A MISSION AWARD is an award to recognize musicians or other entities in the music community for their contribution in supporting charities and humanitarian causes.

The 4th Annual Jersey Acoustic Music Awards will be held on April 7, 2013 at the historic Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove NJ. Online voting to determine winners of the Musicians on a Mission Award will be open until March 1, 2013.

Ms. Conte, a jazz singer and voice coach, was nominated for her campaign to equip the Union Beach Memorial School Band with donated instruments after theirs were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. Her efforts led to donations of instruments and money from all over the country. Professional musicians donated extra instruments while parents gave instruments that their kids had once played and had out-grown. Fundraisers occurred as far away as Oregon while a Rutgers University music fraternity offered to donated the proceeds from its Annual Snow Ball.

In addition to her many projects of music and artist advocacy, Ms. Conte is a supporter of the homeless encampment in Lakewood, NJ known as Tent City, producing concerts to draw attention to the needs of the homeless, and raising money for Rev. Steve Brigham , who lives among the homeless ministering to them.

"It's an honor to be nominated with such a worthy group of individuals who have dedicated themselves to making New Jersey, and especially the Jersey Shore, a better place to live," said Ms. Conte. "There is a story behind each Musicians on a Mission nominee; a story of trying to make a difference for people."

For more information, please go to https://www.jamawards.org/musicians-on-a-mission-award. The Jersey Acoustic Music (JAM) Awards were created to recognize local New Jersey original music acts. It has evolved over the years and continues to grow to be an awards program that represents original music throughout the state of New Jersey. It was first based on live performances at a hand full of acoustic listening rooms and open-mics that featured very talented original acts. Over the years it has grown to performances at dozens of listening rooms and large venues throughout New Jersey. Nominees of the JAM Awards are selected from contributions from the Nominations Committee, Awards Committee, and public online submissions.
