Admission Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album Releases Today
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts / Back Lot Music) Releasing today digitally on Back Lot Music is the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album from Focus Features' latest film, Admission. The album features 11 new cues by composer Stephen Trask (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Savages). Focus releases the movie nationwide this Friday, March 22nd.

Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Paul Rudd (This is 40) are paired for the first time on-screen as Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan and idealistic alternative high school teacher John Pressman in Admission, the new comedy/drama directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Weitz (About a Boy, In Good Company), about the surprising detours we encounter on the road to happiness.

Since 2003, Admission composer Stephen Trask has been scoring films on both the independent and studio level for a wide variety of diverse filmmakers. His work with Paul Weitz on Admission marks their fifth time collaborating. In regards to his latest score that was created, Trask says, "This was a fun collaboration with Paul Weitz because it felt like picking up the thread of a creative conversation we started with In Good Company, and bringing to it new skills and knowledge. I was particularly pleased with the extensive use of vocals, which started with me singing a melody into my iPhone, and was encouraged by Paul to pick up on the theme of collegiate vocal groups. We ended up with all manner of singing, from simple indie rock back-ups to Association-style a cappella to The Beach Boys to Bambi in the woods."

Trask first came to notice as the co-creator/composer/lyricist of the award-winning stage musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, for which he won an Obie Award; the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding off-Broadway Musical; a 1998 New York Magazine Award; Drama Desk Award nominations for Outstanding Music, Lyrics and New Musical; a Grammy Award nomination for Best Cast Album; and two GLAMA Awards. The subsequent feature film version brought him Entertainment Weekly Best Soundtrack citation for 2001.

He has recorded and performed with artists such as Stone Temple Pilots, Bob Mould , Sleater-Kinney, and Yoko Ono . Currently, he is working on a new musical with Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, The Addams Family) and Peter Yanowitz (10,000 Maniacs, Morningwood).
