Vajra To Play Complimentary Show in Brooklyn, NY On March 29, 2013
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Vajra Official Website) As a way to say thanks to all their friends for their loyal support, progressive rock ensemble Vajra is announcing they will play a free show on Friday, March 29 at Spike Hill, 184 & 186 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

Vajra sold-out their first show a little over a year and a half ago and have been blowing up the scene since then. Vajra recently released their debut album "Pleroma" which has been garnering attention from music blogs and critics worldwide.

Listening to Pleroma can be a psychedelic experience. According to Scallywag Magazine. "As I played Pleroma, the shadows in my den shifted. The grass in the back yard began to hum a blue/green low rumble....Each song on Pleroma has its own life and color and ripples across sand mountains to orca-filled seas." It's a trip worth taking.

Virgin America selected Vajra's single "Erode The Will" for their In-Flight Entertainment Series in December, 2011, and the single was also selected for the Red Gorilla SXSW Compilation and the Invasion of the Go-Girls Music Compilation. The Band also was selected as a Supercuts Rock The Cut Ambassador.

The band has played to sold-out audiences at: The Bowery Ballroom (NYC), The Mercury Lounge (NYC), The Bowery Electric (NYC) and also performed 2 shows at The Red Gorilla Music Festival, The Spicy Evolution Music Festival, the Invasion of the Go-Girls Showcase at SXSW and the Texas Rockfest down at SXSW. And that's not all. The band completed a successful West Coast tour in Summer 2012, performing at Sylvia Massy's 4&20 Blackbird Music Festival, The Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco and The Roxy in Los Angeles. Vajra also just signed licensing deals with Viacom, The Discovery Network, Showtime and Bravo.

The 8th-Circuit compares Vajra singer/band leader Annamaria Pinna to Verdi, Tool, Kate Bush and Jarboe. "Vajra's music is a miasma of shapeshifting, boundary pushing lullabies and incantations that highlight Pinna's ability to glide back and forth between the eternal optimism of Kate Bush and the grand Gothic darkness of Jarboe with unmatched ease. Her backing band, ably and humbly comprised of a cache of upcoming underground runners like Will Dahl and Doug Wright, twist Eastern Indian themes with modern hard rock into a sound that is impossible to ignore....[Their album] Pleroma is spirit and music done correctly. It's a woman screaming and singing, scratching out the ethos of the demons and disasters of everyday life and love and death cast around a band that sets up a perfect altar of cacophonous sound and vision upon which sacrifices are made to gods and demons that, upon listening to the record, even staunch atheists would be hard pressed to deny exist. Very highly recommended."
