New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Workman Entertainment) Renowned record producer, Tony Visconti, has signed on to record, produce, and mix the highly anticipated new album from psychedelic rock trio, Capsula. Solar Secrets, the follow up to the acclaimed In The Land of
Silver Souls, is set for release on Krian
Music Group in late spring/early summer of 2013. Visconti's prowess at the board will mix seamlessly with Capsula's wild, energetic, and psychedelic garage rock rawness.
"Capsula had a big year. They drummed up major buzz at SXSW, garnering a four-star review for their album, In the Land of
Silver Souls. Simultaneously new and old-school, Capsula feels like Bowie and the
Pixies had an uber-stylish baby" - MTV Iggy (2012)
Fresh from working on The Next Day,
David Bowie's first studio album in a decade, Visconti connected with
Martin Guevara (vocals/guitar), Coni Duchess (vocals/bass) and
Nacho (drums). Extremely vocal in regards to their unwavering appreciation and admiration for
David Bowie and his music catalogue, Capsula are thrilled for the chance to work with Visconti, and the feeling is mutual.
"Capsula is a serious rock trio, possessed of great musicianship with songs destined to be evergreens," remarked Tony Visconti. "I can't wait until our studio odyssey begins."
Capsula will record under the direction of Visconti at Lexington's Saint Claire Recording Studio in the heart of Kentucky. With Visconti at the helm, Capsula will experiment with a variety of sonic influences ranging from South American garage rock and West Coast psychedelics to Latin rhythms. Fans will recognize the trio's signature sound of blazing rock n' roll riffs, heart pounding drumbeats, and catchy vocal melodies.
"Magic's about to happen when this master producer hooks up with the highest energy trio he's ever worked with," stated Frank Liwall Founder and President of Krian
Music Group. "We're thrilled that Tony Visconti recognized Capsula as the unique band they are, and can't wait to hear the results of these two compelling and creative forces coming together."
Tony Visconti's rich history in the music industry dates back to his work in the late 1960s and early 1970s with T-Rex, The Iveys,
Paul McCartney and Iggy Pop. His track record as a hit record producer grew as the variety of artists he collaborated with continued to expand. Visconti began his iconic work with
David Bowie for 1969's Space Oddity and developed a long lasting relationship that has carried through to 2013.
Capsula is hitting the road this spring in support of label mates, Os Mutantes, and will also be making their return to New York with a performance at Brooklyn Bowl on March 27 alongside New York Rivals, Twin Guns, and Rob Decoup.
