New York City Fireman Rick Galvin founded In Honor of Carol Galvin as a dedication to his mother who passed away from cancer on January 8, 1988. Rick Galvin has presented these semi-annual benefits to raise awareness, money and to make a difference in peoples lives. Rick also hopes that his fundraising efforts will help save a child from the pain of losing a parent to cancer. "On January 8th, 1988 I lost my mother to cancer. I remember that night vividly because selfishly I decided not to visit her at the hospital. Although time goes by, the guilt still remains and I've been trying to do something positive in memory of my mother. I decided to hold fundraising events bringing together current and future stars of fashion and music. These benefits have been successful and inspiring events, not only for myself but for the hundreds of supporters who have attended. The benefit at EVR on May 8th should be an unforgettable event.
